Glory of the Orgrimmar Raider

Well, most of us, some are still waiting on a few of the Klaxxi titles. Was a fun evening tracking down the ones we hadn’t gotten already just from our normal raiding. By far, the best one ever is Thok, post-snail digestion…

Thok got et by a Snail

Was it worth it? Well, you be the judge …

A bit of regicide to end the evening with..

The Ashen Order

It was a rough journey, but now we’re ready for SoO heroics!

Yes, I updated the front page, try not to faint.

Finally I have access to this site from work, so I’ll be able to update more frequently.

Also, if any guild members want access to update the front page with news or what have you, just let me know.

Our progress through SoO has been good, with the one hitch of some guy called Garrosh Hellscream. We’re able to down 13 bosses in one 3 hour raid, one shotting everything, even when Blizzard throws a patch that breaks half our addons and buffs the weapons on Blackfuse. Hey, we’ll roll with the punches.

Soon enough we’ll be 14/14 and starting on heroics. Stay tuned …

And now … for heroics!

Ten heroes ventured into the very heart of the Thunder Kings palace, and brought his reign to an end. Proudly, under the banner of The Ashen Order, these brave souls faced many challenges, and yet with good team work and perseverance were victorious. And as for just rewards, more INT plate to disenchant. Oh well. We’ll be plundering the Thunder King’s treasure many more times before 5.4 hits.

Congratulations to The Ashen Order and all involved!

All in all, 6 bosses on Tuesday, progression (read: lots of wiping and gnashing of teeth) on Thursday, but paid off in a kill on Sunday. Not to mention a pretty good third attempt on Primordius who I firmly believe we will get down next week. But a good week, no a great week, because despite the 37 or so wipes on Durumu, we came up with a good strat. Just had to use a secret weapon ….

Throne of Thunder Progress

Currently, the team is 6/12 in Throne of Thunder. A solid 6/12 as we proved last night clearing our 6 on farm in just over 3 hours on one raid. Progress on Durumu the Forgotten will continue this Thursday.

Durumu, by the way, has been “nerfed”. I put that in quotes because the forum is filled with people saying how this maze fix is not really a fix and just creates more problems. I guess we will see. I do not recommend reading the forum posts or you might have this reaction:

In other news since the last update (and it has been a while, Zela got very busy so I have taken over), the team has moved to a 3 night a week schedule, raiding on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 6:30-9:30 Server Time (Central).

Recruiting

We are currently looking for an 11th member of our 10s raid team. We have 10 solid raiders but everyone needs a break now and then so we would like to add a new standby member to the team. By standby, I mean you will make the roster better than 50% of the time, and of course, you’re first in line for a full time spot if any current member leaves. We are looking for a Druid, Paladin, or Monk healer with a DPS offspec preferably, but I am willing to consider any applicant provided they are not a priest or shaman, because our raid is just heavy with those classes right now.  If you are a mature raider who wants in on a relaxed, mature atmosphere full of people who care to try to play this game at a high level, you might be right for us.

Raiding Update: 16/16 and 3 Heroic Bosses Down!

We’ve had a busy few weeks on the raid time. The Sha of Fear was a fear-inspiring fight indeed (at least for our poor, beleaguered healers), but we took him down last week and then went back for a second go this week. Loot and hilarity ensued.

Our primary targets this week in raiding, though, were a few of the heroic fights we’d been itching to try. After clearing the full tier, we started on MSV heroics Tuesday, with excellent results.

The mighty Stone Dogs, Feng, and Gara’jal all fell before our… might.

For a guild that formed up well into the expansion, we’re excited that we managed not only to achieve our lofty goals of clearing the tier, but also took out several heroic fights. We’ve consistently climbed the ranks of Whisperwind guilds and are looking forward to 5.2 with a vengeance and a solid team of great people. Thanks to all of them for the hard work and great fun!
